The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022
Jubilee Street Party - Friday 27th May
We all have enjoyed celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this summer, with the highlight being our special Heatherside (Infants and Juniors together) Jubilee Day on Friday, 27th May.
Thank you again to all our fantastic volunteer parents from both schools who worked so hard, both planning all the events and helping on the day itself, it was certainly a day to remember! Check out the photos from the special day; the sun shone and our school looked amazing as a sea of red, white and blue. Congratulations to Her Majesty!

We enjoyed…
- Wearing our red, white and blue outfits
- Decorating our picnic bag for the Jubilee Lunch
- Jubilee activities in class in the morning
- Giant Street Party Lunch
- Races in the arena
- Games and events on the field all afternoon
The Queen's Green Canopy
Our school supported a mass tree planting weekend at the end of March, giving our pupils the opportunity of being able to take part in the Queen's Green Canopy Initiative. This is thanks to the Lions Club of Fleet who sourced the 1700 tree saplings which are now "taking root" in the local area. Each tree has a label recording who planted it; why not check how your young tree is doing?
We also have our very own Hawthorn tree growing at the front of the school building which was donated to us to be part of the Queen's Green Canopy. We look forward to watching it grow over the next few years.
Art Competition - Winning Designs from Heatherside Infants!
As part of the planned celebrations for Fleet, a souvenir programme is being designed and will be available for people to purchase. An art competition was held for local schools to submit their ideas for the programme and we are thrilled that two designs from our children are to be included in the final souvenir programme! Congratulations to Ava in Year 1 and Savannah in Year R for their winning entries!
Plants to make Heatherside red, white and blue!
Thank you to everyone who donated plants and pots, helping us turn Heatherside red, white and blue this summer; the colours are looking amazing!
